Good Tuesday Evening. Linda left behind about 8 inches of rain and now is long on its way south of the islands.

A return to a typical trade wind pattern with clouds and showers focused mainly over windward areas, especially overnight and during the early morning, can be expected. Breezy trades may weaken to moderate toward the end of the week.

Surf generated by the low will keep waves elevated for east-facing shores, where a high surf advisory continues. For mariners, a gale warning is in effect until 6 p.m. for windward coastal waters from the Kauai channel to Maui. It will be replaced at that time by a small craft advisory, which already covers remaining waters.
